Appreciate Ya...

I just love how it took Raheem Devaughn a whole 7 minutes and 39 seconds to express how his woman makes him a better man.
I think it's the sweetest thing when a man can express to his lady how he appreciates her.

While listening to the song today, I realized that the majority of the couples I know take each other for granted (including myself).
Why do we do that???
I’m not saying that everyday you have to call your mate up and be like ‘Yo boo, I appreciate you’. There are so many other ways we can express it, but we tend to forget the little things (and it goes both ways).

Like my friend that has this igotwifeyathomebutilovemyhoes mentality.
I try to tell him that the shit he’s doing is getting old, and “wifey” is gonna get fed-up and leave. Just because she’s there when he needs her, she doesn’t like confrontation, and she takes care of home, doesn’t mean she will take that treatment for long…
(Hopefully he’ll think about that after reading this)

Then there’s my home girl that ignores the shit out of her man. I would see him try to hold a conversation with her and she would just brush him off. Then when he’s not around she can’t stop talking about how much she loves him and can’t see herself without him.
Okay, cool. Tell him that.
Every time I see him he looks like a sad puppy, and if she keeps it up, one day that dog will stray…
(I wonder if it’s just an act she puts on whenever we come around)

It kills me how we take each other for granted, and the moment we lose that person we suddenly realize how much we love them. But hey, I guess that’s just a part of life…

A relationship is like a job, you have to put in work, and like any job, people want to be acknowledged and appreciated…
